Angye’s is the perfect local place to shop for holiday décor and gifts.
By Fern Corraini
As the holiday season approaches, what better time of year to introduce you to Angye’s, a new gift store in El Centenario? The store’s namesake, Angelica, and her bilingual husband, Fernando, will welcome you like an old friend. As December progresses, you will have plenty of excuses to go visit Angye’s. Need a unique gift for your neighbor or hairdresser? You’re more than likely to find it here. Time for a new Christmas wreath for your front door? You can even take your favorite centerpiece in to be spruced up! Or maybe you’d like someone else to decorate your tree and wrap your presents? Head over to Angye’s and check out her unique creations and services.
Plants and Arrangements
In addition to unique arrangements of artificial flowers and succulents, Angye’s has an impressive assortment of tall artificial plants and trees. These are not your “Made in China” variety. Rather, they are lovingly made by this creative couple. Fernando finds, strips, sands and stains real tree limbs, and Angye designs the foliage to create the full plants and trees. Perfect for a bland spot in your home, patio or garden, no watering necessary. Or, decorate one with fairy lights and use it as a tropical Christmas tree!
Giftwrapping Service
I’ve downsized the entire present-wrapping gig out of my life…no more birthday bags, tubes of Christmas wrap and bags of scrunched bows taking up space in my closet. So, I really enjoyed checking out Angye’s display of 20+ wrapping styles, a charming assortment to choose from to make your gift extra special. Even better, Angye will wrap it for you. Shopping made easy!
Gift Baskets and Gift Certificates
Take the guesswork out of gift-giving and order a gift basket! You can’t go wrong giving food and drink! Make an order with Fernando, or bring in your own tasty items – chocolate, wine, cheese, oysters, nuts, salami, Baileys, anything-that-isn’t-fruitcake-really – and Angye will create the perfect custom gift basket for you. Not sure what to give? Angye’s offers gift certificates too, a rare find here in La Paz!
Free Local Delivery
Christmas will be different for everyone this year, and we can each make things merrier for lots of people by doing our Christmas shopping locally. Amazon doesn’t need us, but our neighbors do. Support our local craftspeople and food sellers whenever you can. Angye and Fernando invite you to stop in for a look. They are earnest and enthusiastic about their new shop, and look forward to making their customers happy.

I believe it’s fairly new to El Centenario – and definitely worth a visit. So great to see new places opening up right here in our community!
