The Residences at La Paz’s famous El Mogote peninsula

Looking out into the Bay of La Paz, you will see El Mogote, the long peninsula that juts out into the bay. On the far side of the peninsula is a long stretch of beach with clear, swimmable waters. This is where La Paz’s famous whale shark tours operate, just a 15 minute boat ride from the malecón. The Mogote peninsula is home to sand dunes, a wide variety of sea birds, and from shore, you can often spot pods of dolphins, mobula rays, La Paz’s eponymous whale sharks, and turtles. Locals in the know from El Centenario often come to this sparsely populated beach to hang out and get away from the crowds. It’s also a popular place to bring your dog for a long beach walk and a swim. Situated at the very tip of the peninsula, Paraiso del Mar is a gated private community of both condos and single family homes. Just a short 10-minute water shuttle ride from the La Paz malecón, Paraiso del Mar includes 90 finished homes, beachfront condo buildings, a 50-meter infinity pool, tennis courts, world-class golf course, clubhouse, pickleball courts, and a restaurant.
